Description :
In the framework of the fight against poverty, this project aims at strengthening the regional integration of energy policies and hereby enhances the access to electricity in peri-urban and rural areas in the CEMAC member countries. Specifically, the project aims at :
1. Improve energy planning capacities in the CEMAC region
2. Implementation of 57 000 social connections
3. Setting-up of an efficient scheme for maintenance, commercial management and project follow-up;

Description of the Actual Services Provided Coordination : (i) Setting up of the CEMAC Energy Facility Cell and drafting of conventions between (i) CEMAC and (ii) Partners and associates; CEMAC Cell running ; (ii) Investment attendant measures ; (iii) Regional session for experience sharing; (iv) Assessment / acceptance of the management component.

Sub-regional energy planning : (i) First step of planning support focused on rural and peri-urban needs; (ii) Development of regional energy GISs ; (iii) Electricity demand forecast by 2025 ; (iv) Strategic analysis of electric systems development; (v) Identification / pre-feasibility of hydroelectric investments of the regional energy plan;

Peri-urban electrification : (i) Design of the connection component of the project in each country; (ii) Implementation of peri-urban connections ; (iii) Continuation of the technical and commercial preparation; i(v) Support to commercial management ; (vi) Production of tender documents; (vi) Support to the contracting process
