Description :
The Green Mini Grid Facility in Kenya has provided technical and financial support to private developers to expand access to energy from renewable energy mini-grids.
Four developers have installed mini networks and are operating them.
A baseline was carried out between 2019 and 2020, and the purpose of the study is to carry out an assessment of the impact of electrification on the quality and living conditions of populations.

Description of the Actual Services Provided To carry out this impact study, IED and EED carry out two phases of surveys:

• A first phase with 28 localities
• A second phase 12 months later, with the same 28 localities

Each phase of the survey involves 2100 surveys of a sample of households, entrepreneurs, women, and community infrastructure similar to that of the baseline. The impact is analyzed by comparative statistical analysis between the baseline situation and the two post-electrification surveys.
