Description :
Namibia's national electricity company, Nampower, plans to build and operate the Otjikoto Biomass Power Plant (OBPS), a 40 MW power plant that will generate electricity by burning wood chips from the encroaching bush.

The objective of the project is to assist NamPower in the preparation of a grant application to the FFEM that would maximize the positive environmental and social impacts of the biomass supply chain and thus ensure the sustainability of the project.

During the Due Diligence phase, IED will be required to provide support to AFD on specific and technical points of the project for the instruction of a loan to Nampower for the financing of the production plant.
