Description :
Tolaro Global is located in Tourou, in the Commune of Parakou in Benin. Since 2011, it has been operating a plant for processing cashew nuts into white almonds, roasted and other processed products (dough, butter, flour).

The plant is facing hulls management issue, which represent 75% of the processed nuts raw mass.

The project consists to build a 360 kW gas-generating power plant to use this waste to meet the electrical needs of the plant, and thus transform an environmental problem into a lever to improve the profitability of its industrial tool.

Description of the Actual Services Provided IED acts as Assistant to the Project Owner and Prime Contractor of this biomass power plant project:
• Completion of preliminary design studies : evaluation of electricity consumption, sizing of the plant accordingly to the plant's development plan, cost evaluation and development of business plans
• Support for financial closure
• Detailed engineering : Technical specifications, preparation of tender documents and support for contract negotiation
• Support for obtaining permits and authorizations: PGESSS, declaration of self-production and connection contract
• Monitoring and control of construction and installation works
• Support for the acceptance of works and commissioning
• Operator training in plant running and maintenance, technical assistance during the first months of operation
• Support for the OCEF grant management
