Description : |
Tolaro Global is located in Tourou, in the Commune of Parakou in Benin. Since 2011, it has been operating a plant for processing cashew nuts into white almonds, roasted and other processed products (dough, butter, flour). The plant is facing hulls management issue , which represent 75% of the nuts raw mass processed. The project consists of the construction of a 360 kW gas-generating power plant to recover this waste to meet the electrical needs of the plant, and thus transform an environmental problem into a lever to improve the profitability of its industrial tool. |

Description of the Actual Services Provided | IED acts as Assistant to the Project Owner and Prime Contractor of this biomass power plant project: • Completion of preliminary design studies : evaluation of electricity consumption, sizing of the plant in relation to the plant's development plan, cost evaluation and development of business plans • Support for financial closure • Detailed engineering : Technical specifications, preparation of tender documents and support for contract negotiation • Support for obtaining permits and authorization: PGESSS, declaration of self-production and connection contract • Monitoring and control of construction and installation work • Support for the acceptance of works and commissioning • Operator training in driving and maintenance, and technical assistance during the first months of operation • Support for the management of the OCEF grant |
