Description :
As part of its support to the Ministry of Energy and Hydrocarbons (MEH), the German Cooperation is involved in the energy sector through the promotion of renewable energy (RE). This operation is realized by the project Promotion of Rural Electrification by Renewable Energy (Perer), implemented by GIZ, which has as main objective the improvement of inclusive framework conditions for public and private investment in the electricity sector by renewables. Improving regional energy planning is one of the project intervention areas.
It is in this context that GIZ has requested IED assistance to train agents of MEH, and related agencies (ORE, JIRAMA, ADER) involved in planning, to the use of the rural electrification planning tool GEOSIM©, in order to facilitate the harmonization of their respective planning documents.
