Description :
The main objective of the Rural Electrification Project of Congo (PERCO) was to electrify 60 chosen localities in six departments of the Republic of Congo. The project ‘s scope included the construction of medium and low-voltage lines, the construction of MV/LV transformers, the implementation of new connections and the installation of street lighting.

The specific objectives was to electrify four administrative centers of district and the 54 villages crossed by the power lines and to develop a portfolio of reliable and bankable projects in the Republic of Congo. The following areas have been chosen: (i) Pointe Noire – Tchiamba-Nzassi Axis ; (ii) Madingou – Mabombo Axis; (iii) Djambala – Mbon Axis; (iv) Boundji – Okoyo Axis.

Description of the Actual Services Provided As engineering consultant, IED was in charge of the implementation of the following services:
a. Control/supervision of the works carried out by the contracting parties;
b. Assistance to the elaboration of tender documents;
c. Technical inspection of the execution studies carried by entrepreneurs, constructors or contracting parties:
d. Validation of the technical specifications including all the sketches and plans;
e. Manufacturing supervision, factory reception and equipment expeditions;
f. Follow-up of the elaboration of the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP);
g. Coordination of commissioning tests once installations were completed;
h. Writing reports;
i. Accounting statements and final report;
j. Elaboration of a training program for the project team unit;
k. Reception of the works;
l. Elaboration of a price list adapted to the rural environment.
m. training of UGP staff in the use of geographic information systems (GIS) and in the development of electrical and mechanical studies of distribution networks (GISELEC)
