The objective of setting up an Energy Information System (EIS) was to provide a tool for planning and decision support making to the National Department of Energy, . The EIS allows the National Department of Energy publishing the National Energy Balance in a timely way with consensual and reliable data. | Description of the Actual Services Provided | The Consultant undertook the tasks specified below 1 Provide the National Department of Energy (DNE) an annual work plan and standard forms of data collection for the purposes of updating the system; 2. Implementation of the EIS (www.sieguinee-dne.org) within the DNE in order to - Edit the national energy balance in a timely manner (including installed capacity of power plants, share of each energy source, annual consumption for different energy sources, access by source rate, etc.. ); - Provide reliable and consensual data, allowing a clear view of the sector to make realistic projections; - Get energy information from all country’s localities; - Plan investments in the sector according to the needs and availability of energy sources. 3.
