Description :
The objective of the assignment is to prepare an energy sector report on key trends and challenges impacting on ACP development. The purpose of the report is to reach a consensus between the ACP member countries and the EU on key energy sector related issues and have common approaches in terms of best practices, looking at regional aspects and trends and country- project-specific case studies.

Description of the Actual Services Provided The Consultant was asked to:
a. Provide a detailed review of key political, economic and social trends in the ACP countries and regions affecting the energy sector
b. Compile accurate data and figures on key trends affecting the energy sector in the ACP countries
c. Articulate the roots and nature of the challenges in the energy sector
d. Make an analysis of the financing gap in the energy sector of ACP countries and suggest best practices in the area of financing energy for sustainable development
e. Review the role of local and international financial institutions
f. Suggest innovative solutions to critical development challenges in the key thematic area of energy and sustainable development for all
g. Provide up to date statistics and data on energy in the ACP regions.
