Description :
Biomass occupies a predominant place in the energy consumption of sub-Saharan Africa. The goal of this project is to strengthen the regional integration through coordinated actions in three countries of the region Burkina Faso, Mali and Cameroon concerning the utilization of biomass.

The work program is articulated around five main tasks :
* Task 1 Training on the decentralized rural electrification (ERD)
* Task 2 Training on energy biomass
* Task 3 Symposium
* Task 4 Creation a Web site
* Task 5 Co-ordination.

Description of the Actual Services Provided The first task 1, confided to IED, divides as follows :
* Identification of resources of biomass and actors of the Electrification from biomass: identification of projects where two essential parameters (the availability and the quality of the resource and the existence of a solvable demand) have already been identified, in Burkina Faso and Cameroon. The project will try to identify actors that can contribute to biomass electrification projects.
* Reinforcement of institutional capacities from case studies: On 2 sites presenting «pedagogical " characteristics the project will execute a complete study, whose objective is to propose a framework of coherent analysis : analysis of needs, analysis of the resource, choice of production techniques, dimensioning, economic analysis and financial analysis.
* Dissemination of project results: The dissemination of the project results will be insured by the distribution of the synthesis report , and by the organization of an interactive training workshop and by publications in reviews largely distributed in Africa and in Europe, and the implementation of a Website.
