Description :
The AFD wants through this study, to improve its interventions in the field of access to a modern energy in sub-Saharan Africa. However, the AFD does not intend to lead an approach ex--nihilo, but wants to build it from i) an in depth review of international "best practice" of access to electricity programs, in particular in Africa, in Asia and in Latin America, and ii) from an analysis of its past and current own experiences
A benchmarking and a comparative analysis will provide a document of methodological proposals. These initiatives and\or concrete approaches are declined on five themes, and striking points of a generalized policy of access to modern energy services:
- Planning for a global electrification
- Organization of the distributed independent production
- Organization of the distribution
- Compared economic analysis
- Demand Management
