The launch of the Sunref program in Côte d'Ivoire on 07 July 2022 in the Ivorian press headlines
Signed on February 2, 2021 between CGECI and AFD, SUNREF Côte d'Ivoire is a loan scheme to finance Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy projects led by private sector actors in Côte d'Ivoire.
The SUNREF program implemented over a period of 3 years, is financed by the European Union up to 2.5 million euros or 1,625 billion FCFA, to fulfill the needs of green finance to enable Côte d'Ivoire to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 30% and to increase to 45% the share of renewable energies in the Ivorian energy mix in compliance to the Paris Agreements on the climate.
Officially inaugurated on July 7, 2022 in Abidjan, the SUNREF program, green finance label, aims while financing investments in Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, to create jobs and promote economic growth.
CGECI is the Prime Contractor of technical assistance, IED and GINGER-BURGEAP were recruited following a tendering process to support CGECI in the coordination and animation of the Technical Assistance of the SUNREF program.
