An IED team composed of 7 electrical network engineers carried out the start-up mission from 10/01 to 20/01/2023.The objective of this mission was to collect the data necessary to carry out the project studies. The teams were able to collect, for example, geographical data concerning the location of MV lines and substations, plots, meter data, operating plan of the city's MV network, etc. Thanks to the SNE whose welcome and availability to the IED teams were irreproachable.

Inauguration of the Iferouane hybrid solar power plant during the 16th Aïr Festival in Niger

On the occasion of the festivities celebrating nomadic cultures, particularly the Tuareg culture, the Nigerian authorities inaugurated in early December 2022 in the heart of the Aïr mountain range located 1200 km away from Niamey, the new hybrid power plant of Iférouane (360 kWp solar, batteries and diesel).

The Nigerian Electricity Company, NIGELEC, project owner, with the financial support of the World Bank, is leading the solar hybridization project of 15 diesel power plants supplying so far isolated localities, adding to a total of 6.1 MWp of solar production.

The project also includes works to extend the medium and low voltage networks to cover all the populations of these localities. IED and its local partner CEH-SIDI, provide expertise to Nigelec on the different phases of the project: selection and contracting of EPC companies, validation of execution files, performance of  works, acceptance and operation.

IED contributes to safeguarding the sight of vulnerable populations in Benin

In 2022, among the various actions carried out by its employees, IED supported the Cotonou Bel'Harmonie Lions Club, which brings support to disadvantaged populations in Benin.

At the end of 2022, the fruits of this initiative are already visible: following the free ophthalmological consultation organized by the Zone 13 Lions Clubs on October 26 and 27, 2022, patients received their medical glasses at the Abomey-Calavi/Sô-Ava University Hospital on December 27.

Lions Club members and patient beneficiaries expressed great satisfaction. The success of this action would not have been possible without the valuable support of sponsors and partners.

Marcel DOSSOU KOHI, President of the Cotonou Bel'Harmonie Lions Club, expressed his deep thanks to IED Consult which financed a large part of the funds through a donation to carry out this operation, and which also organized among its staff at the headquarters, a glasses and ophthalmic lenses collect that are now redistributed to patients.

IED supervises the electrical supply works of FABRIMETAL plant in Benin

As part of the supply of electrical energy to a concrete bar manufacturing plant in Sémè,  Benin, IED was asked by the SBEE - Société Béninoise d'Energie Electrique - to monitor and control the work consisting to add a 63 / 15 kV - 20 MVA transformer span at the 63 kV/15 kV substation in Sémè.

All the work was carried out with quality while respecting the standards and rules of art. One of the major challenges of the project concerned the maintenance and refurbishment of the electrical transformer manufactured in 1986.

IED supervised and controlled the works assiduously during the six months of implementation and assisted the SBEE throughout the commissioning phase of the works until the commissioning of the plant effective since November 22, 2022.

Concretely, this project, financed by the World Bank, is articulated according to the following steps:

  • The digitalization of CEET's distribution networks and its subscribers,
  • The construction of a dataserver, its controlled environment and its backup infrastructure,
  • The delivery of computers and office equipments to the CEET,
  • The development of a network and subscriber management application including integration into a Computer System.

In order to ensure the proper execution of this project, IED provided training in October 2022 to Togolese data collectors to enable them to georeferencing in Greater Lomé by collecting infrastructure data and electricity meters.
