Decentralised rural electrification

IED played a pioneering role in the formulation of the concept of Decentralised Rural Electrification (DRE) at the beginning of the 1990s.

Today, services provided by IED cover all the stages of the project cycle. The in house know how of IED encompasses all production options for DRE systems - diesel, solar PV, wind, hydro ; approaches developed and implanted integrate a strong concern for energy efficiency both in the energy production and consumption systems..

Socio economic and social studies, screening and specification of DRE systems,
financial analysis and tariff studies ; local organisational schemes ;
